Stuff Breaks–Deal With It.

Yes–”stuff” does indeed break. As related in my previous post, my old APC back-up died. I thought it was time to replace the batteries, but apparently these “Back-UPS XS” units are notorious for randomly going into overload mode (with nothing plugged in), and there is no repair other than to replace the entire circuit board (which you may or may not obtain from APC!). Almost 100% of the tech-site responses were as follows: “Throw it away and buy something different.”
On another related topic: You’d think that they could make a plastic volume knob last for more than 35 years, right? Sadly the answer is “no.” Come on, man–what junk!!!
I’m kidding. My old blues-ey, Stones-ey 100w Marshall has been very, very good to me, so I’l just go ahead and replace the knob…
